En effet avant de figurer sur son site les programmes commerciaux n'avaient pas été soumis à une enquête approfondie et piégeaient les utilisateurs en leur imputant des frais supplémentaires . LOOKOUT une société américaine suppose même que ces fraudes viennent de Russie. Il se pourrait que 5 applications supplémentaires sur Androïd Market soient concernées. LOOKOUT parle de 14000 téléchargements qui seraient touchés par le phénomène. Google avait déjà été par le passé critiqué pour son laxisme en matière de sécurité. Les concurrents directs de l'entreprise ont fait savoir que des enquêtes étaient réalisées. D'autres sociétés créant des applications s'attachent d'ailleurs à renforcer les vérifications.

This article taken from BBC News dated December 5^th2011 entitled « Google moves to delete scams Android apps » deals with the problem that Google had with the applications it displays in its Android Market.

First What is an Android Market ?

An Android market is a sort of display managed by a company on the Net where you can easily buy many applications in order to use them on your phone or Touchpad or computer. Some Companies are today leaders on this market such as Google, Apple, Microsoft a.s.o. When you want to buy one of those applications you buy it directly to the firm and can use it immediately after its downloading on your device.

What sort of problem LOKOUT discovered ?

LOOKOUT a mobile security company based in San Francisco discovered that Google offered apps on it Android Market but that those were spoilt by viruses leading to scams. In fact, users thought that they were downloading an application but in fact they were giving a phone permission to send a text message costing £ 3. LOOKOUT even thought the scam was coming from RUSSIA. The company notified GOOGLE of the 22 affected apps.

Why is this sort of problem difficult to solve ?

The problem is difficult to solve because people use the Android market, they love downloading apps to play on their smartphones or Touchpads. Today the attacks concern at least 14,000 downloads of apps containing Rufraud and LOOKOUT knows that the attacks have risen in the past few months. Other companies such as Apple or Microsoft make serious enquiries on apps before adding them.

To conclude I would say that the Web may be particularly dangerous because we are not really able to control everything when we browse. We may think that a firm like GOOGLE is serious and that the danger is impossible when surfing on it but finally the text shows that GOOGLE is dangerous. So many people buy on the Internet today that it seems difficult to check each visit on a site and each payment. Consequently it is the sites' rôle to control and to secure the visits and the purchases.

Un jour j'avais 14 ans, j'étais au collège, un de mes amis est parti, tué par un chauffard qui a brulé un feu rouge. Cette perte prématurée a choqué les élèves de ma classe de troisième. Je dois dire que même aujourd'hui je pense encore à ce drame. La souffrance alors est toujours aussi forte, une vie si courte, des regrets de ne pas avoir mieux connu, mieux apprécié celui qui nous a ainsi quittés. 

Cette fin de semaine dernière notre école a perdu Marzia, une jeune femme discrète rencontrée en 2010, partie puis revenue pleine de détermination et de volonté dans notre établissement.

Ce petit mot est pour ses camarades de classe de l'année dernière, mais aussi pour ceux qui l'avaient cette année accueillie, les BTS AG. Je sais que pour eux les semaines à venir vont être difficiles et que l'image discrète de Marzia va les accompagner.

Ce petit mot est aussi et surtout pour ces parents que je ne connais pas mais pour avoir une fille du même âge je peux mesurer leur souffrance. J'ai prié pour Marzia aujourd'hui et beaucoup pensé à elle que je connaissais si peu, une musique m'est venue à l'esprit....

First what is Artificial Life ?

Artificial Life is a Hong Kong-based-firm, they work worlwide and they are creating a new software which will be adapted on new, higher tech, third generation or 3G cellphones. Their aim is to take an important market share on virtual items. Their C.E.O. Is Ebehart SCHONEBURG and their creative content editor Mary-Anna DONALDSON.

Then what did they invent ?

They invented a virtual girlfriend called Vivienne. She is dedicated to lonely men who don't have any girlfriend but also to men having a girlfriend who is not always perfect (which will lead to a certain number of people). Vivienne has a lot of advantages, she speaks 6 languages, she is sexy (but prudish), you can marry her (be careful because in this case you can have a mother-in-law calling you at night to know if you are nice with her daughter. She likes chocolates and flowers and finally she can have long conversations on romance and intimacy.

Finally, how does the software work ?

You can get the programme by subscribing a $6 fee per month then you can exchange with Vivienne on many subjects because she has a large database. As she is in your smartphone she can follow you wherever you go. The programme is fed with computerized voice synthesis, streaming videos ans text messages.

To conclude I would say that this system may be funny but only if it is used as a game, because if it is not the cas it might become a real problem for people who have no love in their life. Virtual is not reality, you don't feel the same sensations. Vivienne can be used as a translator for example, she can thus be useful. She is the representation of our today life, a terrific means to make people communicate through their computers, laptops, smartphones, Touch Pads but not directly, face to face.
